Exploration, learning, and wonder through immersive experiences

The project

Starlab is an original format developed by Field A1, designed to turn learning into an engaging, immersive experience. Created for spaces dedicated to families and children, Starlab combines technology and storytelling to build an educational environment where discovery becomes an adventure. At the heart of the experience is Chloe, a virtual assistant who guides visitors through the stages of the journey.

The adventure begins at the Sirio Space Station, a portal that introduces young visitors to extraordinary worlds. Here, through the Window on the World, participants explore the wonders of our planet, observing the continents through interactive storytelling. The experience continues with interactive challenges, where digital walls and floors become tools for playful learning, encouraging teamwork and creativity.

The journey culminates in the Immersive Voyage, a breathtaking 4D experience aboard the starship Pegasus, carrying the audience through scenes that range from deep space to the ocean depths, from prehistoric jungles to the African savanna. With Starlab, Field A1 opens a new frontier in edutainment, blending art, technology, and education to give children an experience that sparks their curiosity and inspires them to explore the world in a new, engaging way. Its first application was the creation of Family Room, the children's edutainment space established by APS La Meridiana of Benevento in Atripalda, designed entirely by Field A1.

The second season

After the success of the first application in the Family Room, Field A1 developed two new immersive formats that mark the project's second season. The first is a fantasy fairy tale with a dreamlike, magical register; the second is an adventure set in Egypt, on the trail of a pharaoh's treasure, combining exploration, narrative pace, and educational content. Two deliberately opposite worlds, designed to maximize perceived variety and keep curiosity high among a local audience that comes back to the same space again and again.

The main challenge was one of production: developing two complete formats in parallel while raising the bar on rendering and animation quality compared with the first season. Starlab's technical and narrative infrastructure, already proven in the field, made it possible to focus the entire production capacity on content. The steady stream of enthusiastic feedback from families since 2024 led La Meridiana to formalize an agreement with Field A1 for the ongoing renewal of content: confirmation that Starlab is not a one-off installation, but a library of experiences that grows over time.

The outcome
