An Instrument of Your Peace
←The invisible thread connecting the prayers of the world's great religious traditions
A few steps from the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, home of the Porziuncola, Field A1 created a permanent immersive room inside the Global House of Friendship and Hope, dedicated to the dialogue between the prayers of the great religious traditions. The project was born from the vision of Alon Goshen-Gottstein, head of a leading international organization for interfaith dialogue, with art direction by Massimiliano Siccardi and an original opening score composed by Luca Longobardi. The installation surrounds the viewer with four fully projected walls: animations build evocative scenes tied to each prayer, while audio recitations in the original languages and a continuous musical fabric accompany the journey, making the continuity between seemingly distant traditions tangible.
The project's real challenge was cultural, not technical: treating sacred texts with a scientifically grounded, artistically sensitive approach, respecting each tradition's iconographic constraints and steering clear of both over-explanation and shallow syncretism. We chose to work through atmosphere and evocation rather than literal illustration, and to pace the experience for meditative time. The result is a space of discovery, meditation, and visual wonder inside one of Europe's most significant pilgrimage sites.
